Absentee Bid Policy – Coins Auction - A Plus Auctions
We are a portable on-sellers location type auction service. Therefore, absentee bids are provided as a service to our customers on a per auction basis. We strongly recommend prospective bidders or their personal representatives inspect the property before bidding to determine it’s condition and to bid accordingly as they deem fit. Please remember you are buying all items in "AS-IS" condition and "Where Is" at time of sale. All SALES ARE FINAL. Once sold, you the buyer become responsible for payment for each item won. THERE ARE NO RETURNS. Absentee Bids Form
1). Absentee Bids cab be taken by FAX when received by us until 24-hours before auction start. Absentee bids by those present Day of Auction can be accepted until 15-minutes before the start of the auction.
2). To make an Absentee (Proxy) bid:
a). Register by requesting by phone or downloading and completing and returning our Absentee (Proxy) Bids Form by mail or fax. By completing the bidding form, you authorize Mike Murphy’s A Plus Auctions to bid on your behalf up to the limit of your bid. We shall execute the bid to the best of our ability, however will not be held responsible if circumstances prevent us from doing so. We will purchase at the lowest possible price up to your MAXIMUM bid.
b). On the Absentee bidding form list the Lot number / Item Description and your Starting bid & MAXIMUM bid amount for each item that you want to bid on.
c). We require advance payment in full by personal check or money order in order for us to bid on your behalf. Providing you become the winning bid we will deposit your check in our account and make arrangements for shipping with insurance. We will refund you the difference of your expenses by a check. Should you be out bid then we can void your check and mail it back to you.
3). If you are unable to view the items personally, you are bidding at your own risk. We have endeavored to describe correctly the property to be sold. Buyers must rely on their own inspections. We shall in no event be responsible for the correctness of description, genuineness, authorship, provenance, grading, condition or fitness for any use of said property and no statement made orally or printed at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed as such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability.
4). Absentee Bids start at a $25 per item minimum. No item will sell for less than $25.00 regardless of the bid amount left. Absentee bids of $25.00 will open at $25.00
5). We do not accept bids on box lots. If an item in a box lot or grouping is worth $25.00 or more it must be singled out and sold separately.
6). Bidding is conducted competitively with the audience.
7). In case of duplication of starting bid amounts, bids will be handled on a
First come, First served basis. When there is more than one Absentee bid on an
item(s), then A Plus Auctions will open the bidding with the highest starting
bid at the increment of our choice and advance the bid from there with the
audience.
8). If two or more absentee bids are higher than the highest audience bid, the highest absentee bid prevails by a progressive bid increment over the second highest bid. The final selling price will be announced.
9). The "Sold" price achieved at auction is the hammer price. ( Sales Tax, Bidders or Buyers fee, Shipping & Handling are extra.) An absentee bidder will pay their "Sold" price, not their highest bid submitted unless that is where the bidding stops.
10). Wisconsin Sales Tax is not charged to buyers with Sales Tax Exempt Numbers (form to be filled by buyer out prior to this exemption.)
11). All items must be paid for in Full prior to being removed from the premises.
12). You will be contacted by phone, only if you are the winning bidder.
13). Shipping costs are paid by the buyer. All items will be insured for the full value of the item at buyers expense.
14). We will not be held liable for errors or failure to represent submitted Absentee bids.
15). Payment by check; We reserve the right to hold the property before delivery of item(s) on items until funds have cleared the bank.
16). There is a 10% buyers fee for Internet Absentee bidding.
